We’re hiring a Aero Space CNC Lathe Machinist for our Southwest Houston area client! We are looking for experienced, dependable machine operators with a strong background in steel plate burning who are ready to interview immediately!
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Aero Space-Lathe Operator
Location: Southwest Houston, TX 77035
Schedule: M-F 6AM-2:30PM
Pay: $25.00/hour DOE
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Description of Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture aerospace components.
- Machine center studs, tie rods, shafts, and related hardware to blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and process sheets.
- Enter, modify, and adjust CNC programs at the machine control.
- Perform roughing, finishing, grooving, threading, and chamfering operations.
- Set up chucks, collets, steady rests, tailstocks, and follow rests for long parts.
- Select and install proper cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to maintain production and quality requirements.
- Machine alloy steels, Inconel, MP159, and other high-strength materials.
- Perform first-piece, first-article, and in-process inspections
Requirements:
- 2+ years of CNC Lathe Machinist experience preferred.
- Experience with CNC lathe setup and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, dimensions, threads, and surface finishes.
- Experience setting up chucks, collets, steady rests, tailstocks, and follow rests.
- Ability to program CNC machines or edit existing programs at the control.
- Experience with roughing, finishing, grooving, threading, and chamfering.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tooling, feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances, concentricity, runout, and surface-finish requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting chatter, tool wear, poor surface finish, and dimensional issues
