We’re hiring a Structural Fitter II for our Brookshire, TX area client! We are looking for experienced structural fitters with strong blueprint reading, layout, and heavy steel fabrication skills who are ready to interview immediately!
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Structural Fitter II – Nights
Location: Brookshire, TX 77423
Pay: $25.00–$27.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–5:30 AM, with consistent overtime available. Occasional Saturdays may be required based on workload, with notice typically provided the Thursday prior.
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Description of Duties: Fit and assemble structural steel frameworks and fabricated components according to detailed blueprints, layouts, and fabrication drawings. Identify material sizes and perform layout, positioning, alignment, and fit-up of structural components prior to final assembly.
Use straight edges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and precision measuring instruments to accurately position components and verify grooves, angles, dimensions, and gap allowances. Cut, contour, and bevel metal plate and structural shapes according to blueprint specifications. Burn, measure, fit, and tack weld multiple steel components to create accurate structural assemblies.
Safely operate an overhead crane to position and move structural steel components throughout the fabrication process.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of hands-on structural fitting experience required. Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints and detailed fabrication drawings, identify material sizes, and independently perform structural layout and fit-up. Must be proficient with precision measuring tools and have experience cutting, beveling, burning, fitting, and tack welding structural steel. Overhead crane experience is required.
Strong attention to dimensional accuracy, fit-up quality, and safe material handling is essential.
