DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Swiss CNC Tsugami Machinist
Location: Houston, TX 77008
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (Second Shift)
Pay: $32.00/hour and up, DOE
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Description of Duties:
- Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC turning centers, preferably Tsugami machines, in both guide-bushing and non-guide-bushing configurations.
- Program, edit, and troubleshoot Fanuc controls, including tool offsets, geometry, and main/sub-spindle synchronization.
- Perform complete machine setups, including guide bushing adjustments, collet changes, tooling alignment, bar feeder setup, and sub-spindle pick-off.
- Create and edit CNC programs using CAM software such as ESPRIT Swiss-Type or SolidWorks with SolidCAM.
- Program from 3D CAD models and post-process programs for Fanuc-controlled Swiss-type machines.
- Machine aerospace-grade and exotic materials, including titanium, Inconel, nickel alloys, Hastelloy, 17-4PH, and high-temperature stainless steel.
- Produce roll-threaded parts, including thread-rolling tool and die setup, feed and speed optimization, and thread inspection.
- Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and First Article Inspection (FAI) specifications.
- Maintain material and process traceability in accordance with aerospace quality standards, including AS9100.
- Troubleshoot dimensional accuracy and surface-finish issues, including chatter, guide bushing wear, tool wear, and part deflection.
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain quality, tight tolerances, and production requirements.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Requirements:
- Proven experience setting up and operating Swiss-type CNC turning machines; Tsugami experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls used in Swiss-type machining.
- Experience with CNC programming, editing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using ESPRIT Swiss-Type, SolidWorks, SolidCAM, or similar CAM software preferred.
- Ability to perform complete Swiss machine setups, including guide bushings, collets, tooling, and bar feeders.
- Experience machining titanium, Inconel, nickel alloys, stainless steel, or other exotic materials.
- Knowledge of roll threading, thread-forming tooling, and thread inspection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications.
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI), AS9100, and aerospace material traceability requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.
- Steel-toe shoes are required.
