We’re hiring a Pipe Fitter for our Northwest Houston area client! We are looking for experienced, mechanically skilled fitters with strong blueprint reading and precision layout skills who are ready to interview immediately!
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Pipe Fitter NIGHTS
Location: Northwest Houston, TX 77041
Pay: $18.00–$30.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00PM–5:30AM (Overtime available with occasional Saturdays as needed; Saturday work is typically communicated on Thursdays)
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Description of Duties: Fit and prepare pipe and vessel components according to engineering drawings and fabrication specifications. Perform layout, measurements, fit-ups, and dimensional checks to ensure components are properly positioned before welding. Inspect and verify fit-ups using appropriate measuring tools and utilize flame cutting torches, carbon arc gouging, plasma cutting equipment, portable grinders, and other fitting and fabrication tools. Work closely with welders and fabrication teams to maintain proper manufacturing sequence, dimensional accuracy, quality, and production standards within a pressure vessel fabrication shop.
Requirements: Previous pipe fitting, vessel fitting, or industrial fabrication experience preferred. Candidates must be proficient in reading a tape measure to 1/16″ or smaller and able to read and understand engineering drawings. Must have the ability to calculate degrees, angles, and circumference using basic math, algebra, and geometry. Experience with welding, grinding, cutting, and fitting tools is required. Previous experience working in a pressure vessel or heavy fabrication shop is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to accurately inspect and verify fit-ups.
