We’re hiring a Melt Technician for our client! We are looking for dependable, safety-focused manufacturing professionals with foundry or high-temperature production experience who are ready to interview immediately!

DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:

Job Title: Melt Technician
Location: Southwest Houston area
Pay: $18.00–$24.00/hour (based on experience)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Duration: Temp-to-Hire

Description of Duties: Set up, operate, and monitor induction melting furnaces to melt and pour molten metal into preheated ceramic shell molds. Prepare and weigh alloy, revert, and other charge materials; monitor melt temperature and chemistry; skim slag and dross; make alloy or deoxidizer adjustments; and pour molten metal according to established specifications. Take chemistry samples for analysis, inspect completed castings for defects, and accurately document temperatures, heat numbers, charge weights, and process results. Perform furnace startup and shutdown procedures, monitor cooling and safety systems, troubleshoot equipment and casting issues, and assist with furnace refractory, crucible, and pouring equipment maintenance. Maintain a clean and safe melt deck while following all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred with 1+ year of experience in a foundry, metal casting, or high-temperature manufacturing environment. Previous induction melting and molten metal pouring experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to operate furnace controls, temperature controllers, HMI touchscreens, pyrometers, thermocouples, scales, calipers, micrometers, and other manufacturing equipment. Must be comfortable troubleshooting equipment, following detailed production procedures, maintaining accurate process records, and working around molten metal, extreme heat, fumes, dust, loud noise, and moving equipment.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently lift 21–50 pounds, and regularly reach, grasp, bend, climb, squat, push, and pull as required. Candidates must be able to safely wear required PPE, including hearing and eye/face protection, safety footwear, flame-resistant or aluminized protective clothing, gloves, tinted face shields, and respiratory protection when required.
